Snow sliding off roof creates unique display

The heavy snow in Central New York led to a unique display: A thick sheet of snow fell in one piece over the side of a metal roof. Hastings, N.Y. -- A snowy February and a gradually warming March mean that snow is coming off the roofs in Central New York. But a roof full of snow doesn't usually come off all in one piece, like it did on the VFW pole barn in Hastings. Chuck Carr Sr., of Hastings, took the photo above on Saturday. The snow looks like a huge mattress bending as someone carries it over their shoulder.
